DESCRIPTION
解説
The portmaster utility is a tool for updating your ports. It uses no
external database to track what you have installed. Rather it uses the
existing ports infrastructure, including what is located in /var/db/pkg.
The focus of this tool is to keep the dependency tracking information for
your ports up to date, which allows you to update a specific port without
having to update all of the ports "above" it. In the rare case where you
do need to recompile ports which depend on a port you are updating, the
-r option exists to accomplish this.
portmaster ユーティリティは ports をアップグレードするためのツールです。
インストール済みパッケージを管理するための外部データベースは必要ありません。
その代わりに、ports の基盤として既にある /var/db/pkg などを用います。
注目すべき点は ports を更新しても依存関係を維持し続けることで、そのおかげで
あるパッケージを更新したいときに、それに依存するパッケージまでインストール
し直す必要がありません。特定のパッケージに依存するすべての port を更新したい
場合には、-r オプションを使用してください。
ここは最初の1文だけ。あとはオプションの部分。
OPTIONS

--force-config
run 'make config' for all ports (must be the first option)
すべての ports に対して `make config' を実行します。

-B prevents creation of the backup package for the installed port
現在インストールされているパッケージのバックアップを作りません。
-C prevents 'make clean' from being run before building
ビルド前の `make clean' を行いません。
-G prevents the recursive 'make config' (overrides --force-config)
再帰的に `make config' を実行しません。
(このオプションは --force-config をオーバーライドします)
-H hide details of the port build and install in a log file
ビルドやインストールの詳細ログをログファイルに記録しません。
-K prevents 'make clean' from being run after building
ビルド後の `make clean' を行いません。
-b create and keep a backup package of an installed port
現在インストールされているパッケージのバックアップを作って残しておきます。
訳注: このオプションがないときはインストール完了後に消去されます。
-g create a package of the new port
新しい port の package を作ります。
-n run through configure, but do not make or install any ports
configure までは行いますが、make も install も行いません。
-t recurse dependencies thoroughly, using all-depends-list
-v verbose output

-w save old shared libraries before deinstall

-u unattended mode -- accept defaults for all but 'make config'

PLEASE NOTE: Under most circumstances this option is not necessary,
and may produce unwanted results. If you experience problems with
portmaster, please try running it without this option first.
注目: 大抵の場面ではこのオプションは必要ありません。
また、予期せぬ結果を招く場合があります。
portmaster で問題が発生した場合は、このオプションを外してみてください。
[-R] -f
always rebuild ports (overrides -i)

-x avoid building or updating ports that match this pattern

specify the full path to a port directory
/usr/ports 内の port ディレクトリパス。
port のディレクトリまでのフルパスを指定してください。
--show-work
show what dependent ports are, and are not installed (implies -t).
This flag must come first on the command line.
-o [new port dir in /usr/ports] [installed port]
replace the installed port with a port from a different origin
現在インストールされている port と違う port で置き換えます。
訳注: port の移動があった場合などに使用します。
[-R] -r name/glob of port in /var/db/pkg
rebuild the specified port, and all ports that depend on it
指定された port とそれに依存するすべての port をリビルドします。
-R restart an update, skipping ports already up to date. Used with -r
or -f options.
すでに最新の ports をスキップしてアップデートを再開します。

-a check all ports, update as necessary

-e name of port directory in /var/db/pkg
expunge port using pkg_delete(1), and optionally remove all dist-
files. Calls -s after it is done expunging in case removing the port
causes a dependency to no longer be necessary.
pkg_delete(1) を使って port を削除します。すべての distfile も削除します。
その後、すでに必要のない依存関係を削除するため、-s オプションを実行します。
-s clean out stale ports that used to be depended on
何からも依存されていない ports を削除します。
-F fetch distfiles only. Cannot be used with -G, but may be used with
--force-config and -[aftv].
distfiles のダウンロードのみ行います。-G オプションとの併用はできませんが、
--force-config や -[aftv] との併用はできます。
--clean-distfiles
recurse through the installed ports to get a list of distinfo files,
then recurse through all files in /usr/ports/distfiles to make sure
that they are still associated with an installed port. If not, offer
to delete the stale file.
インストール済み ports の distinfo ファイルを調べて、
/usr/ports/distfiles にあるファイルとの対応を確認します。
不要なファイルがあった場合は、削除してもよいかプロンプトを出して削除します。
--clean-distfiles-all
does the same as above, but deletes all files without prompting.
--clean-distfiles と同じですが、プロンプトを出さずにすべて削除します。
--check-depends
cross-check and update dependency information for all ports
すべての ports の依存情報を確認して更新します。
--check-port-dbdir
check for stale entries in /var/db/ports
/var/db/ports の古いエントリをチェックします。

--version
display the version only.
バージョン情報を表示します。
とりあえず暫定。--show-work, -t の2つがよくわからなかったので放置。
